QLD: Oppn and ON pursue govt on Heiner shredding
BRISBANE, Feb 22 AAP - The Queensland Opposition and One Nation today questioned the
legitimacy of the Beattie Labor government following a revival of the controversy over the
1990 shredding of the Heiner inquiry documents.
Cabinet ordered the papers shredded on the grounds that, because the inquiry was improperly
constituted, there was no protection for witnesses against legal action for defamation.
The Opposition and One Nation have called for a fresh judicial inquiry into the affair
